I am not taking any supplements. As for prebiotics I eat fruit and lots of raw and cooked vegetables every day.
The past 3 months I have read Doctor Jensens guide to Better Bowel Care, Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Weston Price, Body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates, Gut and Psychology Syndrome by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride and Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon. I just found out about B Wilder and used her summary of illness. All of these authors really promote fermented foods for a healthy diet.
I started this journey on the Specific Carb Diet. The 24 hour yogurt was impossible to make and maintain a consistant temperature. I wish I knew then about kefir and how easy it is to make.
I know now that fermented foods are VERY important for on going health.
