Re: All people of Netherlands were condemned to death
The knowledge and beliefs I have about the origins or the Bible come from much personal research and reading. I like reading old books and it's next to impossible to provide proof out of the many, many pieces of information I've read.
Until the printing press was invented in 1444, everything was hand-written, so the Church could have the scribes write whatever they chose.
In 1474, Cardinal Wolsey said "IF we do not destroy this dangerous invention, it (printing press) will one day destroy us".
It stands to reason that the Church would control the flow of information. They even controlled by selling "indulgences" which they claimed would make a person's sins be forgiven.
If you want to know more, there is info out there. "Mystery Man of the Bible" by Hilton Hotema is a real eye-opener. I've also posted a couple of other links, "Bible Myths" by Doane and "The Bible Unveiled" by Mangasaria. You can also check out the catalogue at Health Research Books for other authors and titles.
I read the Bible regularly. I think that the monks that the Church hired to write the Bible hid truths in it by using of symbolism and allegory.
