All people of Netherlands were condemned to death

In 1567 AD, Philip II (King of Spain) condemned the ENTIRE POPULATION of the Netherlands to death!

That's approx. 3 million people. I can't imagine that the world ever had a more bloodthirsty decree in its entire history.

This was because the Dutch had become mainly Protestants.

So the Spanish Inquisition decided it would be easier to just kill them all.

They sent the Duke of Alva to Holland with his army and he succeeded in executing (burning) approx. 18,600 people.

But the Dutch fought back and eventually won their independence.

(And we trust that these murderers didn't alter the Bible to suit their own ends???)
