Re: Is Iodine over-hyped
In the 2+ years since my other posts in this thread I have gained much knowledge...
We (all living things) adapt to our environments... whether we like it or not, some people have likely adapted biochemically, to use other halogens... which would make
Iodine in anything but that already found in their diets a no-no.
Given that chlorine, fluorine, and bromine all can contribute to certain types of cancers... my bet is that so can
Iodine in large amounts.
That said...it can also prevent cancers in cases of exposures to certain man-made pollutants such as radioactive
Iodine - but how much should we take?
Given that we are all different... what may be WAY too much for me, may not be near enough for you.
And so it goes... too much, or too little of anything, THE SAME THING, seems to contribute to disease.
Like anything else, there is no one size fits all... but mega-dosing (OVER 8.5 MG for males and 12 MG for females per day - preferably through foods if possible - if I remember my dosing research right) indefinitely... defies common sense IMO.
>>"Science is not the gospel truth for all times. If that were so,
Science would have been another dogmatic religion; not that it is any less dogmatic now! All scientific laws are true until proven otherwise. Let us look at some of them which are vital for human physiology and, consequently, for human welfare."<<
the article that this quote above is from is well worth taking the time to read my friend. thanks for your post.

I view iodine as a medicine... a preventive and corrective. I also view its use as Dr. Jarvis and Cayce did... perhaps twice a week in a
Lugol's supplement form... or as with the Cayce form, seasonally for a period of time... but for the most part, through diet primarily.
That said... exposure to nuclear accidents changes things. And virtually all humans (and living things on the planet) today have been exposed to nuclear testing\accidents. However, we know very little about what corrective action to take as
Science does not have all of the answers.
The bottom line is... health is a synergy\symphony of things... living right, thinking right, eating right, drinking right, breathing right, good clean, high quality air, water and food, grounding, etc.
