Re: Is Iodine over-hyped
The
Iodine protocol is super complicated with emphasis on buying more or less every vitamin/mineral supplement in the market. I have done that. My medicin cabinet was filled with all kinds of vitamins, Vitamin C, B-complex, selenium, Magnesium etc. etc. Its not only complicated, its risky to follow such a protocol.
Besides that, we must remember that there are oxidative therapies ( aka Iodine, H2O2, Ozone ) and then there are anti-oxidative therapies. Both these therapies have the potential of killing bad stuff. But
Iodine being a powerful oxidant will cause lot of Oxidative Damage and accelarate aging. Why not try reductive therapies.? I have read about Hydrogen as the most imp. antioxidant.
I have tried
Iodine and will be very cautious of it. I do not want accelarated aging. There are enough oxidants, our bodies are already fighting with.
But thanks to the hype and so much lobbying on Iodine, and names associated with a couple of MDs, ppl are falling for Iodine.
