Re: Breast Pain
I checked Dr. Wright's list of supplements for treating fibrocystic pain. I decided just to list them and not worry if you were already taking any of them.
No caffeine
B complex 50 mg three times a day
Maybe add B-6 100 mg three times a day if you have severe premenstrual problems
Magnesium, at least 270 mg a day
Vit E 800 iu - prefer complete Vit E with 4 tocopherols and 4 tocotrienols
Primrose Oil 1500 mg twice a day, but could substitute borage oil so get minimum GLA 270 mg a day
He also had one lady take some Vit C (amount not specified) and Zinc 50 mg, since she was short on minerals.
Vit E helps correct an abnormal progesterone-to-estradiol ratio. Essential fatty acids can improve breast pain and lumpiness and help make iodine more available in the bloodstream. Vit B6 helps modulate production of prolactin, which is frequently out of proportion in women with premenstrual problems, and helps to counteract the effects of high levels of undetoxified estrogen usually present in fibrocystic disease.
