Re: UN population projections prompt calls for population control

"I would (if I were ruler of the world) sterilize junkies and people convicted of a certain class of child abuse."

What is a junkie? that is your definition, because I don't think I would want you to be ruler if you are going to forcefully sterilize people.

"I would forceable limit the number of children people could have based on their income or potential income."

So people would have to live by your "standard of excellence"
What if people don't want to live in a money based economy, are you going to force your income based society on them? That is what is already happening and that is what happened to the natives across the world due to colonization. Forcing their culture on others and destroying indigenous culture, smells like genocide.

"No I don't think that only wealthy affluent people should have children. I know many affluent parents that are rotten parents, have way too many children to be able to give emotionally what each child needs. That is why I advocate 2 children per family,"

For how long do you advocate 2 children for family? What about a child tax, that would make you a lot of money as ruler? Even though if you were ruler you could print whatever amount money you wanted.

"However, I also think that having children that you can't feed and cloth and shelter is morally wrong. And if the parents aren't responsible enough see this, then I think they should be sterilized."

There are many more parents that cannot have children that would want them if they were given the opportunity. I know of several women who gave their children up for adoption, and they still see their children, and they are doing great.
I have met many outstanding individuals who grew up on the street and in homeless shelter, etc. These people are survivors, and I'm sure they would be bummed if someone had not given them the opportunity to live. I'm sure all the people they have helped through their programs would also be in bad shape as well, simply because someone arbitrarily decided their life was not of value.

"I am not one to knock welfare families, because i know that for most people it is a safety net that is used for a limited amount of time. However, no young single woman who is on welfare and likely to stay on welfare, should be allowed more than two children. The same goes for the man, if he can't or won't support his children, he shouldnt be allowed to have any more."

This is totally an over simplification. Life is much more complex than that. People change, and not everyone should be forced to fit into the societal mold. Again it is up to the individual, everybody deserves a chance. Reading your message makes me scared for my children, if there are people that espouse your beliefs, then we can be assured that their are people with billions of dollars that would like to take it to the next level of eugenics. No Conspiracy needed when you set forth an agenda.
