I thought I'd add what herbs are working for me.
Holy Basil: I've only had a few weeks experience, but I take it for high cortisol, and it has been really helpful. I was taking 800 mg at once, and that was too much, so I split the dose and take it over two hours, 400 mg each, when my cortisol is highest. I take it with L Theanine. It makes me feel soooooo calm. Usually my energy is very high and nerves are very wired, and I tend toward anxiety then, but with the Holy Basil I feel grounded, calm, and mellow, while the energy is good, and feels normal. The L theanine isn't enough to keep me calm, I have to add the holy basil to it.
Astragalus: I used to take it for energy, but it didn't work so well. I realized that my lack of energy was from crashing from unchecked high cortisol. Now I'm dealing directly with the high cortisol.
You all were mentioning Dr. Lam... his program didn't work for me either... I declined over 5 months on his program and wished I'd never touched vitamin C. To this day I can't touch vit C any more. His program is not tailored enough, and I was one of those that didn't fit into his 'one size fits all' program. Live and learn, I guess!
