Re: iodine slowed my thyroid? generates free radicals!
Without a professional determination, it is hard to guess. There are nutritional doctors out there if you wish.
and that... is why it is always best to take the whole food.
Unfortunately the seas have been and are under assault, slowly, and in some cases rapidly (BP, TEPCO) taking our whole food options away.
Potassium
Iodide is a neutral salt... which would indicate that your problem *may* be another deficiency of some sort.
Potassium
Iodide is *made* through a reaction between KOH (potassium hydroxide), and HI...
It is what they put in iodized salt... among other things.
Iodide *may* also, in a *normal* person, increase nitrogen excretion... that could be good to a point, and then bad if excessive.
And yes, it *can* express as a free radical and accelerate aging if one is not consuming a nutrient dense, mineral rich diet along with it.
Think protein metabolism, among other things.
