Re: great post, thanks!
You're very welcome! I wanted to know the info rather intimately myself. I think herbal supplements could really help me out, but I like reading the scientific documentation first on what effects they have, what peoples' experiences on them are, and what can be done on a simpler level to help myself.
For example, I'd like to try gymana sylvestre (or whatever it's called) at a point to help pancreatic function, but currently my income is so low that I simply can't afford the 40-70 dollars a month it will cost to get the herbs from a reputable out-of-country herbalist.
That's one of the reasons it's very important to be under the observation of a naturopath or herbalist when doing herbal treatment - experience and firsthand knowledge.
No one treatment is as effective as doing a holistic cleansing- body, mind and spirit, which comes best in the form of changing diet away from things that kill (

a lot of these wipe magnesium from the body or damage nerves and organ tissue- or even stop nutrient absorbtion) to things that help build up again, changing habits away from negative thinking (this has been a long, slow process for me, I've had to learn what the Holy Spirit is! - and to accept that I am unconditionally loved from God. That's hard to translate from head knowledge to heart knowledge!), and spirit.. well, going from long hours idly entertaining myself in front of the computer to glad chatter with folk in everyday life and excercising.. yes, that's a change in spirit!
I'd say -hope- is a big changer for a person's spirit. Hope, faith and love, the three things that remain when everything else has passed on. (1cor 13, the chapter on love).
Godspeed!
