Re: MMS is an chlorinated oxidative poison BS

Hello #127999,

Oxford did a good job with those MSDS documents.

The first thing that catches my eye with the sodium chlorite MSDS is that it is listed as HARMFUL.

When you compare salt to sodium chlorite you find that salt has only one risk, and that is that it is an eye irritatant.

Sodium chlorite carries the following risks, in addition to being classified as HARMFUL:

Contact with combustible material may cause fire.
Harmful by inhalation.
Harmful in contact with skin.
Harmful if swallowed.
Irritating to eyes.
Irritating to respiratory system.
Irritating to skin.

Sodium hypochlorite is both HARMFUL and CORROSIVE and carries the following risks:

Harmful by inhalation.
Harmful in contact with skin.
Harmful if swallowed.
Causes burns.
Risk of serious damage to the eyes.

Calcium hypochlorite is HARMFUL and carries the following risks:

Harmful by inhalation.
Harmful in contact with skin.
Harmful if swallowed.
Irritating to eyes.
Irritating to respiratory system.
Irritating to skin.

I think Oxford does a good job of illustrating that these other chemicals are more dangerous and harmful than salt.

One of the main issues with Miracle-Mineral-Supplement is what it is. When you add an acid to sodium chlorite you form chlorous acid. Jim Humble goes on and on about chlorine dioxide, and chlorous acid does have some chlorine dioxide in it, but it is mostly chlorous acid. Chlorous acid strips the lining out of your GI tract. The trace amounts of chlorine dioxide displace oxygen in your blood. Chlorous acid and chlorine dioxide remove magnesium, calcium, iron, and sulfur from your body.

Can this be beneficial? Under specific circumstances, perhaps, but what a price to pay with the body having to be subjected to this much oxidative stress.

Another issue is the amount of Miracle-Mineral-Supplement called for in the various protocols. Water treatment is done at 2 PPM while a 3 drop dose of Miracle-Mineral-Supplement involves 138 PPM and you are instructed to keep taking these doses every 2 hours for weeks at a time.

Yes, each drop of MMS has about 13 mg of chlorite. However, in animals it was found that chlorite has a half life in the body of a little over 40 hours. If you take 3 drops every 2 hours for 12 hours you would ingest 234 mg of chlorite a day. The next day you add another 234 mg, while keeping in mind that it takes over 40 hours to eliminate half of what in ingest. As you can see, the amount of chlorite keeps increasing. Also keep in mind that many people try to use more than 3 drop doses.

Now, if your body reacts to chlorite differently than animals, you could either be better off, or worse off depending on how your body responds. This has not been studied in humans, so no one knows.

Dr. Hesselink states that 7000 mg of chlorine would be lethal for a 70 kg person on a one time dose. Unfortunately, there is no data for long term use. Using a 3 drop dose every 2 hours will only get you up to about 1/10 of that lethal dose, but what if you are below the average that was used for the LD50 death dose? Is it worth risking that?

If you want to use chlorine dioxide at a concentration of 5 PPM, that has been studied in humans and there were no adverse effects observed. However, drinking chlorous acid has not been studied, and concentrations higher than 5 PPM have not been studied in humans.

I encourage you to pick up some MMS. Run some tests and see what concentrations are being used. Review the studies with those concentrations in mind. Keep in mind the warnings and risks.

While you won't immediately kill yourself, you can throw the balance of your body out of whack, and may shorten your life as a result. Playing with HARMFUL chemicals can have consequences that you didn't plan for.

Tom
