Re: MMS is an chlorinated oxidative poison
Hello Gmitch1,
Oxidation produces by products. In the body the by products are often referred to as free radicals. High levels of free radicals cause a variety of problems.
The by product of chlorine dioxide is chlorite. In animal studies it was found that chlorite penetrates all of the organs of the body, including the brain, and has a half life of a little over 40 hours. It is eliminated through the urine.
In the body oxidative stress manifests itself as reduced blood cell count, inability of the red blood cells to carry oxygen, adrenal fatigue, electrolyte and mineral imbalance, and disrupting the GI tract flora continually over a long period of time would most likely add more complications.
When you add calcium hypochlorite to the mix, you now have to look at all the side effects involved with chlorination.
To gain an understanding of how this can effect the body, keep in mind that the half life of chlorite is around 40 hours and then review the studies that have been done on chlorite in animals. After that move on to review the effects of chlorination.
There are no studies involving humans at the levels used in Jim Humbles various protocols, so you will have to simply look at what was found with animals. The various protocols involving
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement use these chemicals at levels much higher than what was used in any human studies. For example the Lubbers study used 5 PPM chlorine dioxide in water. A 3 drop dose of
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement makes chlorous acid, and has a concentration of about 190 PPM. The Lubbers study lists the battery of tests they used to check for oxidative stress. Jim Humble frequently points to the Lubbers study as indicating that ingesting chlorine dioxide is safe, but he doesn't take into account that
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement doses involve much higher concentrations and those concentrations have not been tested in humans.
Pool shock has labels warning against ingestion. Read the labels and the MSDS and go from there.
When you review the various health effects involved with these chemicals, you will have a starting place to evaluate your own condition.
