Re: Family Opposition Rather Than Support
I feel for you.
I agree with Unycorns....stay away from the shrink.
It's not worth the energy....what do you expect to get out of it? You know what you are experiencing is real and you don't need the confusion of someone trying to tell you it isn't.
I use Buddhism as my own personal psychotherapy...and it's free and available to me at any time.
My doctor (6 years) told me it was all in my head, offered my anti-depressants, v!agra and referred me a psychiatrist. Last time I went to see him.
The funny thing is the catabolic state is the one thing they can see. My optometrist can't believe how many eye floaters I have. And everyone comments how skinny I am. I'm a rack of bones. I did put on some weight last summer during the Lam "honeymoon period"
I'm fortunate as far as family goes. I have 4 older sisters, who all have adrenal fatigue to some extent. They have all been on anti-anxiety and anti-depressants for years.
Not only have I convinced them that I have adrenal fatigue....but I've convinced them that they do to.
When my mom was 40 (she's 80 now), they told her she was "borderline" Addison's and put her on Valium for 5 years, which calmed her nerves and allowed her to recover.
She had eye floaters, muscle loss at the time as well.
And there are several of my cousins and uncles/aunts that have similar issues. We are a sympathetic dominant family.
