Why & Why Not? Re: Colonoscopy

I really do understand 'where you're coming from' (and I understand that you don't have much longer on the insurance.  I know that you're trying to do the best you know how to do for your body...and I truly do commend that (really I do).  But I wouldn't be the best healer I know how to be, if I don't share what I know. 

Modern medicine has been statistically proven to be the first cause of death in the USA...and this includes every 'harmless' procedure there is.  Sure, most don't immediately 'cause death', but it does happen (from post above) >>>if it was me I would not do it, for one thing all the cleaning out from the laxatives and not eating will really wipe you out and could set you back for months in your weakened state. Secondly a friends mother was quite sick and had a lot of bowel problems and had a colonoscopy and they punctured her bowel and after emergency operation she was in and out of intensive care and she died.).  Typically, one invasive test, creates a problem they must 'fix', then one thing on top of another thing leads to another thing, and then they add more drugs, biopsies, invasive procedures...and then you're basically unable to do anything but continue following their recommendations...and this always leads to a decline in health (at the very minimum).

 Please consider the logic of putting your unconscious body in the hands of the known & proven first leading cause of death in the US...in order to heal yourself or prevent death.  That's totally illogical, eh?

The horror stories I have read about colonoscopies are, well, just that...horror stories.  I am personal friends with an RN in a small hospital. The amount of perforations, various complications and bleeds (and emergency surgeries & resections) from colonoscopies in just one small hospital alone is insane. 

Then there's the issue of the sedation/anesthesia.  IV benzodiazepine (diazepam/Valium or Midazolam) is commonly used for the sedation; serious cardiorespiratory complications are reported in 5.4 of 1000 procedures.  Due to your already high plasma level of diazepam/Valium, the administration of ANY anesthesia is dangerous, but of course, additional benzodiazepine could cause a critical situation.  

The drug typically given to 'bring you out' of anesthesia is typically flumazenil/Romazicon (a benzo antagonist), and this would drastically drop the plasma level of the Valium extremely rapidly...and this is known to cause seizures (and even temporary paralysis/quadriplegia from the neck down) in those that are addicted to benzos (amongst other severe withdrawal reactions).  And it may take 2 weeks to rebalance the plasma level after the colonoscopy...and it's possible you'd have to go to an even higher dose for stabilization.

Typically with an internal biopsy, they'll also prescribe extremely strong antibiotics...further decimating gut flora and causing all kinds of adverse effects, particularly in someone as weak and compromised as you.  They may even utilize IV antibiotics...and there are some that have vicious reactions with benzos, so you'd need to check that out (as well as making SURE you're not given fluoroquinolone class antibiotic).

No matter what they find or what you're looking to find (unless they find appendicitis) the cure for healing and restoring the colon is basically the same.  If you had appendicitis, the pain symptoms wouldn't subside for days at a time (and return after eating gluten)..and you'd have an consistently elevated temperature (along with incredible tenderness at the deep end of the ascending colon). 

You know you have strong candida overgrowth (which means you likely has parasites, even though the tests showed negative, they are commonly false-negatives).  When you eat gluten, it tears you up and induces pain & bloating (that's typical celiac symptoms).  So unless you have major-serious reasons to believe you have cancer, there's no logical reason for an ultra-invasive invasive test that's definitely going to cause you harm (and is laden with potential for very serious harm), and will definitely set you back on your colon healing and likely screw-up everything you'd done so far with the Xanax/Valium.

Jonn, I totally respect yourbelief system regarding modern medicine.  Just like politics & religion, it's a subject that induces all kinds of debates & negative emotions.  I know you have to do what you think is best to do (and I'll hold no ill will toward you, no matter what you decide). 

I've seen way too many people 'permanently compromised' simply because "they just wanted to know what it was", instead of just doing what it took to heal themselves...I don't want to see it happen to you!

Adverse effects of flumazenil/Romazicon:

What are the possible side effects of flumazenil (Romazicon)?

• seizures (convulsions);
• weak or shallow breathing;
• continued drowsiness for longer than 2 hours after receiving flumazenil;
• confusion, fear, panic attack; or
• fast or uneven heart rate.

Less serious side effects include:
