Ignorant doctors...Anyway bro, let me hit you with the dose of info: My yahoo group has a file about checking aldosterone and renin. They recommend to be up for at least 2 hours at which renin peaks. They also recommend to get sodium and potassium (CMP) done simultaneuosly. Sodium is good at 142-145, I forget potassium, sorry. Anyway, they recommend you get up by 6 am and get aldosterone checked by 8 am sitting upright. That is important, that you sit upright. If we did need aldosterone we would supplement with a mineralocorticoid steroid called Florinef. My aldosterone came back normal, but they messed up my renin vial so i'm wondering if they messed up my aldosterone since it's considered an exotic test.
