Did you actually see the lab values? Or did he just tell you they are normal. Always make sure you get a copy of your labs!
If the range of a lab value is 10-100 and you are 10.2, they call you "normal", but at 9.9.....now you have a problem. Does that make sense?
The reference range simply means that 95% of the population is within this range. It doesn't consider the fact that a maybe a large portion of the population is actually difficient in a nutrient or hormone.
Plus, even though 95% of the population is within the reference range, health problems from being "sub-optimal" can show up much sooner.
Good doctors like Dr Rind know this.....your average schmuck does not...or doesn't care.
