How to debate on CureZone?
The title of this message is: How to debate on CureZone and always rise above your opponents?
It is possible to debate without name calling, and without personal attacks, it just takes some personal control.
Here are a few interesting quotes you can use if you feel that someone has launched a personal attack against you:
"Personal attack is often the best indication that the writer knows his logic is flawed and therefore tries to deflect attention by attacking the opponent, instead of attacking the arguments of the opponent."
"The first person to resort to name calling and personal attacks automatically loses the debate!"
"Challenge the message and not the messenger!"
"Always be a gentleman, and always show respect toward your opponents, regardless what your real opinion about your opponents is."
Lets say, in your head you think:
"This guy is a total idiot, moron, stupid, uneducated, ignorant, arrogant, egoistic, pathetic pity bustard ...
or
What he writes is Laughable! LOL! I am crying out of feeling pity for him .... "
or
"She is a sorry, arrogant, egoistic stupid bitch ... "
As I said, this could be inside of you head, but what you should write on a public forum as a reply or as a comment should be:
"I very much appreciate your opinion and the time you invested into this message, but I respectfully disagree."
When someone disagrees with you, do not take it as a personal attack, take it as a gentleman and simply say:
"I appreciate your opinion, but I respectfully disagree."
And you can leave it there.
If you have time, you could also say:
"This is why I disagree, and state your case....."
If discussing subjects as a gentleman, no matter what other side writes or says, your answer could always be:
"I appreciate your opinion, but I respectfully disagree."
If a person calls you a liar, you say
"I appreciate your opinion, but I respectfully disagree."
If a person says: "you don't know nothing, you are so ignorant" ... what do you say?
You say:
"I appreciate your opinion and time you invested into writing your message, but I respectfully disagree."
And you leave it there.
If a person says in his message: "You are an idiot!"
Your answer should of course be:
"I appreciate your opinion, but I respectfully disagree."
"I let other people reading this thread be the judges."
If you could keep your head up regardless what people say or write about you, you would be the winner of every debate!
Never take things personally on the web, always act like a gentleman, and you will be the winner of every debate!
When you want to write things like:
"This is pathetic" ... don't write it!
"This is laughable" ... don't write it!
"If it wasn't said and dangerous, it would be funny" ... don't write it, you don't need similar words associated with your public profile!
Demeaning people, laughing about, calling names .... is not nice.
Best of health

Rudyard Kipling
If
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!
