Magnesium hydroxide? Is this the right type?

Magnesium hydroxide- is that an organic source of magnesium? I've read that the -oxide form is inorganic, and does not get absorbed into the bloodstream more than 4% of the total.

Since starting the tablets I bought three days ago, I've had a very metallic taste on the tongue, now very reduced when on D3 supplementation on the side. It's been 600 mg of Magnesiumhydroxide in a slow-release tablet on the first day, and then 300 mg the second day, with D3 supplementation of 50,000 iu for a booster dose. Today has been 400mg magnesium from my multivtamin tablet (with herbal mix) that includes the helper nutrients, and 20,000 iu D3, which is to be my daily dose for winter months. The metallic flavor is not showing itself any more, but I have a light feeling of almost.. magnetivity in my skin. A gentle burning at this moment or that, and slight headache here and there. The gentle sunburn feeling is most concentrated at the back/lower part of my head, and reportedly one of the benefits of magnesium is dilated blood vessels.

My skin bleeds a bit easier currently (type 1 diabetic, have to prick regularly for blood glucose testing), and my blood's a much, much more red/crimson color than normal. Usually it is very dark, and flows slower.

I think it may take a few months for my skin and blood vessels to adjust and regenerate against the new nutrients. Extra sensitivity might simply be from beginning from a poor state of health. The increased bloodflow feels very weird, and I want to be careful not to overdo it on the magnesium.. the supplementation is vital though, as both magnesium and D3 deficiency are indicated in Diabetes.
