Re: allergic son

How much licorice root would you add in with the coleus and watercress?

I recommend starting out a little higher initially to get the adrenals built up and the inflammation under control.  So a half teaspoon three times a day.  When the asthma calms down then this can be cut in half.

I do have calcium citrate- what is the best calcium:magnesium:D ratio for before bed?

Keep them in equal amounts.

Is the DE in our water enough silica (along with the stevia he has in his food and tea all day)?

Yes.

A couple of weeks ago, I had started giving him some calcium before bed w/ the only magnesium of the day...but did not increase that magnesium- could that be the culprit in his asthma kicking up and leading a cold to go into pneumonia? It turned in just 5 days. I know his adrenals are weak, but wondered if the magnesium drop could have tipped things.

Yes, increasing the magnesium without magnesium could have definitely lead to this.  Calcium is a muscle contractor, so it can also contract the bronchioles.  Magnesium is a muscle relaxant and relaxes the bronchioles.  In fact, magnesium deficiencies are very common in asthmatics and plays a major role in the bronchiole constriction.

Btw, the cocoa butter & avocado oil mixture is an AMAZING moisturizer. Thank you! And, if you can tell me where to get these things a little less expensively, I would love that.

There are all sorts of soap making suppliers that sell cocoa butter and deodorized cocoa butter as well as other butters.  I personally like mango butter.  Some butters such as aloe butter, coffee butter and avocado butter are hydrogenated so avoid these.  I am not sure who is the cheapest, I have not searched for these in a while.  But if you search soap making suppliers you can price compare.  Buying in larger quantities from these sources also drops the price.

As for avocado oil I have a hard time finding this one and it tends to be expensive.  I did find a name brand once in a discount source for a couple dollars a bottle, but that is unlikely to happen again.  If you can find the unrefined oil this is even better.
