In addition to taking in this water
one needs to supply adequate organically complexed alkaline minerals. [From liquids and foods, not pills.]
A good way to do this is to:
1) Add anything from a pinch to about 1/4 tbsp ES [
Epsom Salts ] to the water. It works very like mega-dosing vit C: when stools are too lose you back off a bit.
2) Add some seaweed to your diet. This can be whole in soups, flakes in or on just about anything, or powdered. Start slowly and work up to 1-3 T a day powdered or equivalent.
Ascophylum Nodosum and Laminaria Digitata are great powdered kelps to use, AN when it is cold and LD when it is hot. Maine Coast Sea Vegetables is a great source for these.
3) Add pickling lime AKA calcium Hydroxide to drinks that incorporate a high quality or concentrated source of complex carbohydrate and some ES similar to the water above, a very small amount at first, more as you begin to heal.
Best way to start is by mixing up some "lime water", which is 1 T pickling lime in 1 gallon H20.
Pickling lime is available wherever canning supplies may be found, both in local stores and online. Mrs. Wage's is a good online source that will ship internationally, last I heard.
Be sure to use a container with a lid. Put about half the water in first, then the powdered pickling lime. Avoid breathing in the powder, it is quite alkaline and can irritate one's sinuses. Put the lid on and shake till thoroughly mixed, the air in the container clear rather than containing any white dust and the liquid milky looking, then add the rest of the water.
One can then measure out T's of this liquid mixture into the drinks one makes, less at first and more as one recovers and can tolerate it.
BSM [Blackstrap Molasses] is a great concentrated source of the carbs, but other things can be used. I like tomato/carrot juice [I include kelp in that] or apple [wihtout kelp] or frozen concentated pineapple juice [Dole, real juice only, without kelp]
The BSM needs a weak acid added as well, such as lemon juice or ACV [Apple cider vinegar]. For a drink of any significant stregnth, the apple juice may also need this. The pineapple and tomato juice tend to have enough of their own acids. As a rule of thumb, it is best if the drink tastes slightly sour rather than a bit chalky.
The above has made a huge difference in my health over the last several years. I am very grateful to Moreless and the other "old timers" at the Ask Moreless forum for inspiring me to use these simple, inexpensive tools to recover from chronic poor digestion, heartburn, candida, adrenal exhaustion, and many other long-lingering maladies.
For more info on how many of us have accomplished such things, check out the many success stories and other posts at both sites mentioned above.
Better health may be just a few sips, swallows and weeks away.
