What is sad Cisco, is that the event you described, and the damage to the river, is being repeated across the globe.

I agree, that we need to take a broader view of the climate, not just one day, one year, or one extreme weather event. There has always been natural climate fluctuations, but these are gradual, and over many centuries. What has happened, since humans have been polluting the planet, and increasing that pollution daily, is that the climate is changing at a much more rapid speed, than ever before, in the history of this planet.

This has been confirmed by many different scientists, in many different fields of study.

Climate change is just one consequence of the polluting of the planet, we will poison our world and ourselves, if we do not stop this rampant pollution.

The good thing is, we can do something about it, as individuals and as a community. We can start by consuming less of the products that pollute the most. We can find other cleaner ways to produce energy. There are so many ways we can help this planet heal.

Arguing over politics, (that doesn't change anything), is not going to get the job done. We have let the politicians and the industry bosses, have their chance at making changes, and they have done little or nothing.

We as consumers, can force the changes that we want to see, by simply not buying products that pollute, in disposal or manufacture, or by being more aware of the impact that we have on our world.
