Re: Biofilm enzymes
I've been using serrapeptase to break up candida biofilm for about 4 months now, and I can definitely tell it is helping in my battle. The only antifungal I use is extra virg coconut oil, and the serrapeptase seems to amplify the oil, causing a more significant herx than taking the oil alone. It's a delicate balance to avoid over-doing it and feeling like hell from too much toxic release.
My candida goes back about 20 years. I think for those who have suffered with this problem for any extended length of time, it is important to take a biofilm dissolving enzyme. I've been actively fighting candida for about 8 years now (yep it took me 12 years to identify what my problem was... i love western medicine), and Im convinced that I could never fully recover because I had long-established candida hiding under biofilm "fortresses" that would hide from antifungals and my immune system, and then re-emerge when it's safe.
So far I have not noticed any candida resistance to either serrapeptase or vco. I figure it will take about 16-20 months to really regain my health since I've had the problem so long.
On a side not, I'm also working on re-balancing my minerals. Zinc, boron, iodine, manganese and molybdenum have been especially helpful. I was definitely copper-toxic, supplementing zinc has helped me immeasurably with that.
I also take Primal Defense Ultra probiotics (currently 3 per day, 15 billion cells). They are super potent but have really helped me alot.
I have no experience with the particular biofilm dissolving enzymes you mention, but the serrapeptase is working for me, so I plan to stick with that for now.
As a side note, I have lost about 6
pounds since starting the serrapeptase (I'm still about 10
pounds over my ideal body weight). Diet has remained constant (very strict candida diet) and my exercise has actually dropped off in that period. I honestly believe the serrapeptase has helped facilitate the weight loss, by removing some candida colonies and reducing structured waste which the body naturally accumulates as we get older (especially for those raised on western diets and
Antibiotics .. yum).
