Re: Feeding the Family
Growing up in Asian countries, everyone had food gardens, chickens, and ducks. It was only when we came back to Australia, that we saw that people no longer grew their own food, (except for the immigrants). People got lazy, and forgot the skills of growing their own food.
Now its becoming popular again, because people want food without chemicals.
My back yard feeds myself and my Partner, and we always have excess to give to my Daughter and her family. She is also growing her own veg, and the kids love growing pumpkins and water melons. Its great to see young people interested in gardening and growing food.
We have very clean oceans where I live, and my Partner catches fish and squid, so we always have fresh fish, with enough to share. We swap with a friend who has an organic beef cattle farm. The barter system is alive and well, in our town. Lol, I've swapped my computer skills for pea hay mulch, and seedlings :) You can barter anything.
I'm going to bed now, with the image of the man with the fish in his pants, now that's some mental vision,
