Who has recovered from Pyroluria and what can I expect?
I have just been diagnosed with Pyroluria (normalised at 22) and am also being treated for under-methylation. They're not sure if I am over/under as my histamine was right in the middle so they are testing me out. Don't mind being a guinea pig What I do want to know is am I wasting my time and money? There is a lot of stuff on google about these conditions but they all say the same thing and there's not much in the way of scientific, peer reviewed articles or news items to be found. However, the Pfeiffer Centre and a growing number of GP's are going down this path, but there is a cynic in me that says this is all too much to be true. I also haven't found many testimonials from people post 2005, and the thing is, with supposedly tens of thousands of people who are / have been treated for this I would expect a lot more.
More importantly, I want to know and hear from people who have undergone the treatment. What were they experiencing before? How did the treatment affect them? How long did it take? How did they notice they were getting better or worse? And what is the long term prognisis?
My experience is that I tend to be quite moody at the best of time. find it difficult to let go of things, have anger outbursts, and always think the worst of people. I never had any energy either. Always tired, grumpy, and over ate.
Sugar addiction. for years I though this was just me, but I have had 5 nervous breakdowns - months of panic attacks, insomnia, suicidal ideation, negative self talk, social anxiety, rapid weight loss (yay!), hypervigilence, obsessive thoughts. Always triggered by a relationship, abandonment issues, which ultimately led to a break up. Very sad. Am a bit of a loner. Need to have things my own way and constantly think life is unfair and people take advantage of me and don't care. The periods of breakdown are the worst. Last one was 7 months and it was like someone flicked a switch. I seriously thought I was possessed. Even had two exorcisms under the aegis of my GP and Psychologist. (One was pretty fascinating).
Have been on my vitamins for about 4 weeks but was taking large doses of Vit B6 and Zinc two weeks prior. Dropped them for 7 days in order to have my pyrole test. Can't say I notice much change other than I seem to have a lot more energy. For eg, I was out all night the other night and could keep on dancing (I am almost 40 and this is pretty unusual for me). My other symptoms had abated before I started the supplements. Infact, my panic attacks had lessened 2 weeks before all my bloods but apparently that doesn't make much of a difference. I noticed a difference after my first exorcism with acupuncture. I still suffer from mood swings and still obsess about my ex. I have given up arguing with my brain but it annoys me that I can't seem to reason my way out of any of this.
Would like to get a sense of who this has helped (how many) and how? Really want to know what to expect?
