Re: You Talked On Talkshoe Tonight Didn't You
Last night I attended my first state assembly, just to see and get the feel for how things are progressing here.
The meeting opened with having everyone stand and a prayer was orated by a pastor. Afterward it was declared that this is a Christian organization. This was uttered again at another point by the coordinator and another time by one of the other participants.
I see that this will probably cause me (and possibly others) to step away and keep my distance.
This just shows me that these people are still trying to convince themselves that their beliefs have merit.
The de jure governor was suppose to be there to sign ID warrant applications and place this 'free' state's seal on it. But, most recently, there is some concern over the need to have the Latin phrases on the state's seal flag. Some had argued for it to be changed to the English language.
I did a little research on the subject and found something interesting: the design was borrowed from the Hudson's Bay Fur Trading Company - a corporation owned by a British royalty. Michigan was incorporated from the beginning, in 1835-1837.
Most of the other stuff was a re-utterance of what was already said on the above TT conference call. As well as some of the history behind the creation of the de facto corporation posing as a government by the people.
A few people said that they had gone to another nearby state a couple weeks ago to hear TT speak.
They also posted positions that they were trying to fill... governor, attorney general and secretary of state.
Anyways, I was not very thrilled over what I witnessed.
