Re: Iodine, by MH
All of my 'negative' experiences with iodine have been detox symptoms, the top of the list is headaches. That is bromide. In the beginning, I felt terrible until I took my sea salt in bone broth and then I perked right up. I think it is insane to shoot the sea salt water with more water. Hypothyroid people need to be careful how much water they drink (Ray Peat).
My other symptoms were old maladies raising their ugly heads which is part of the healing process. I was treated with laser for mercury by a Toftness chiro and I felt terrible for two days. He found the frequency for bromide and treated me, that evening I had a blasting headache, too sea salt two times and the headache went away. I was able to go to a higher dose of iodine with no problem after that.
There is this "crazy" OCD New Zealander, goes by Mueller, if you want to look it up and he thinks one shouldn't take higher doses of iodine. He is fun to read because he is so opinionated.
I haven't seen my symptoms to be anything other than detox symptoms. I have done much better when taking 100mg or so of iodine because I have lots of inflammation and parasites. I use Iosol iodine topically and find that it clear interference fields which I judge by how my adrenals are doing.
Going through this doubting period is normal. It took me a year before I would even take it and then a few months before I took a higher dose. I always tell people to become informed before jumping on the wagon. It wouldn't be a problem if we didn't have so many toxins in us. I know, for myself, that it is detox symptoms and not a reaction to the iodine but every person must make their own experiences. I can't say how thankful I am for iodine.
