Tuesday 12/21/10 I am female, 37, 5'9" and weighed 142.5
pounds yesterday (December 20th). I am fairly athletic, as I go on walks regularly with my dogs up up here in the Sierra Nevada foothills. I'm on day one of a pure water fast. I figured that Winter Solstice is a great date to begin a fast that will basically put my digestive system in 'hibernation'. I will make an introductory thread about what I am doing and why. I am mainly breaking a 20 year addiction to copious, daily ingestion of coffee and, now, two years of almost daily alcohol consumption. I am on a healing path and am not sure for how many days I will do it. Two months ago I did a 5 day fast. I lost ten
pounds in five days, and never gained back all the weight. I was a bit dismayed at the, how you say it in these forums, 'skin eliminations', that manifested in tiny, scattered surface
Acne on my cheeks and chin. I will be researching more of that to see if it is a real phenomenon of fasting, and what causes it exactly, because I pride myself on hygiene, and I know that I was not negligent in any way about my skin care, etc. etc.
Anyway, I don't believe in 'dry fasting' and thoroughly feel that it is a fool hardy endeavor. Thanks for listening!
