Re: Lack of ratings and attention to alerts good and bad
Actually, I thought it was pretty clear that my post was talking about lack of good ratings in the News forum and used an example of unreported SPAM as an possible downside of good alerts being ignored.
Attacks, somewhat like perceived censorship, can be pretty subjective. For example, I have seen several alerts here and in the debate forums which I considered to be not worthy of an alert and more just someone not liking what was posted. In other instances, both here and in other forums, I have seen people perceive mere disagreement to be a personal attack against them and go totally berserk.
And I would remind that this forum, the same as the WM Debate forum and the Personal Conflict forums all have only one moderator. That would be THE MODERATOR. Those who disagree with that particular moderator may be in the wrong place. They are definitely barking and whining up the wrong tree.
I suppose that rating good posts is also subjective; however, a complete absence of ratings indicates to me that something is not right .
Blatant spam and advertising should be obvious to one and all.
