Passing live worms while on the cleanse?

My daughter has been taking the parasite cleanse for a little over a week. Today she started passing live worms, which has upset her quite a bit. She said her stool was rather loose and the toilet was alive with them. I know better out than in, but is the typical reaction while taking the cleanse? Shouldn't the worms be dead?? I just need a little reassurance that things are progressing the way it should. Is this a good sign that the cleanse is working?
