my understanding of how the glandular formulas is that they're not just giving you hormones, they're giving you the raw materials and then your thyroid is doing the rest, which is definitely much much better. i agree with you - natural is best. putting a synthetic hormone into your body would just turn your thyroid off, it wouldn't help it get better.

here's one site i found on the web that describes what the glandular as opposed to the synthetic hormone is doing. http://www.relentlessimprovement.com/catalog/t-100-thyroid-glandula... this particular formula has Iodine from kelp and tyrosine in it too.

just to be complete, can you please post the brand of glandular that you are using? maybe it will help others.
