I should add regarding the iodoral/iodine stuff mentioned above, that I am very sensitive to iodine, and probably won't be doing it myself. You can test yourself by applying some store-bought Iodine antiseptic on your skin. The standard thing is to use the colorized iodine, apply a spot the size of a silver dollar, then wait to see how long it lasts. If it is gone within a few hours, you need iodine. If it lasts for 24, you don't.
What I did was apply a somewhat larger amount to see how I reacted. I got localized chills, so I don't think this is for me.
