Here are some ideas for you

I am unaware of Liver Flushes being able to cure hypothyroidism. I have done a dozen of them, and while I have never been formally diagnosed as hypothyroid, I have many of the usual symptoms (body temperature is typically about 97.4). I found the positive effects of Liver Flushes to be fleeting, and I don't think I really gained anything from my last few. In no case was I aware of a raising of body temperature. What I did notice were the expected effects of the liver being able to expel bile more easily, such as being more regular. Overall sense of well-being did improve, but again, I did not find that it lasted. I don't want to get too far afield of your question, but I am currently interested in alternatives to liver flushes, as I don't see myself doing them in the future. Taurine is supposed to make the stones more soluble, and I really wonder how much of the problem with stones is due to taurine deficiency. I also take cholagogues like chicory, turmeric, and milk thistle. I have heard lecithin has some positive effect, and I can believe that. And of course, there is the usual malic acid and chinese herbs.

Okay, back to your question. I'll list three areas that you may not have considered.

1. Main thing I'm doing right now is Cutler protocol for mercury chelation. Removal of mercury from both the brain (pituitary and hypothalamus important here) and the glands themselves may restore the functioning of these organs to normal. If you go this route, you will have to remove any Amalgam fillings if you have them.

Btw, you probably know that the adrenals are generally closely involved with anything having to thyroid function. Check out this chart:

There is a forum on Cutler protocol on Curezone that I try to stay active in. There are also a couple of Yahoo newsgroups devoted to it. Here's a good general start for information.

2. This is interesting, and I only recently discovered it. Several researchers believe that we have become extremely deficient in iodine, and that has obviously affected thyroid function as well as other things. Before everyone jumps on this, they should take a look at the amount of research and the arguments themselves. Here's a debate on the topic

Read both the original article and the follow-up as well.

Interesting stuff, and fairly new. However, I want to note that this stuff can be potentially dangerous, particularly with an existing thyroid condition.

3. If your core problem is low-body temperature, you might want to check out the Yahoo forum

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/WS-Forum/

Steve Richfield is active there, and his view is that some forms of low body temperature are caused by what he calls central hypothermia, where the body decides for some reason (Steve believes that it can be caused by anesthesia when very young) to keep the body at a low temperature. You have to reset the body to function at a more normal body temperature by artificially keeping it there for a period of time. In some cases, that is easy. In other instances, it can be a major pain.

I don't think that my own low-body temperature is caused by what Steve is talking about, so I haven't followed up on that forum too much. But he's a nice guy, very knowledgeable for a layman, and I do think he's on to something. I would personally like to experiment more with heat therapies. In any case, this is another perspective that is little known.

My last piece of advice is not to give up. I have made tremendous progress in my own healing, and low body temperature is one of my few remaining problems.
