My last pregnancy, I didn't go to the dentist and then I think after I gave birth, I dreaded the idea of going since it had been so long! My cleanings were usually painful (ok, I didn't used to floss until a week before my appt!). Right after I gave birth, I started having digestive problems and a dear friend told me to put Licorice Root and Slippery Elm powder in tea and drink a couple cups a day. I did that faithfully and my digestion problems greatly improved. When I finally did go to the dentist (it had been about 2 years), I couldn't believe it...she cleaned my teeth in about 10 minutes and quietly said "I don't know what you are doing but whatever it is keep doing it...I thought I was going to have to split your appt into two sessions since it had been so long but keep doing what you are doing"! I think the Licorice Root was the ticket! Thought that might encourage you.
