Hello Solmare,

I do not have much time, but wanted to respond with a bit on how to apply a compress when using essential oils.

The 18 Basic Essential Oil Application Methods:

COMPRESS: Dilute 1 part essential oil (s) with 4 parts vegetable oil and apply 8-10 drops on affected area. Cover with a warm, moist hand towel for 10-15 minutes. Can also use a cool, moist hand towel instead of a hot one, to create a COLD compress.

Unyquity has explained the use of an herbal fomentation and I agree that fomentation is the best way to apply herbs for topical applications.

I do not see a reason for adding essential oils to the herbal fomentation.
