Question

I read in the bible and please correct me if I am wrong. But it says to only obey God and to respect your husband or wife. I am getting beaten up a lot for not obeying people. I was forced to obey my father growing up and did not respect him because he was very violent. In my own thoughts I think people that want you to obey them are doing it so they can get you to do what they want even if it is bad.
