Before reading your reply, Mircette was actually in my list of possible BC pill choices because it seems to have a low dose of both progesterone and estrogen -- qualities I'm looking for in a pill.
However, after doing a lot of research, I've discovered that Mircette is a "third generation" bc pill. And apparently, according to the research, third generation bc pills are being questioned because of their side effects -- blood clots that can cause pulmonary embolisms. Really scary to read that so I'm kind of back to square one again with finding a new bc option.
I'm fairly healthy and am not a smoker, so maybe I don't have to worry so much about the blood clot risk? I will definitely be asking my Dr about the risks of taking third generation pills, along with the rest of the pills out there, but has anyone else heard this about Mircette or other pills with this type of progesterone?
