Re: Synthetic "vitamin scam lesson" enclosed (edited)...Re: Recipe for huge energy boost shake

I get it you don't like muscle milk. I think the alternatives listed later in the thread here look interesting and I'm going to try them.

Your messages are always 5 times longer than the original recommendation, including a lot of drama and capital letters (the internet equivalent of "yelling.")

Let's keep quiet in the room and encourage everyone to evaluate objectively for themselves.

First of all - first principle of healing is do what feels right to you.

Secondly, here's my breakdown -

1) I do personally believe lecithin provides benefits

Here's a summary from this link...
http://www.essortment.com/lifestyle/benefitsrisksl_snjo.htm

" Lecithin is an important phospholipid needed by all living cells. Lecithin is produced within our own bodies, and can be found in the major organs: the heart, the liver, and the kidneys. Lecithin aids in maintaining our overall health and is utilized by every cell in our bodies. Though it is produced within our own bodies, we do not always consume enough of the foods that provide the nutrition needed to produce adequate amounts. Lecithin can be found in many foods such as: cabbage, cauliflower, garbanzo beans, soy beans, split peas, organic meat, seeds, nuts and eggs. Today’s average diet, however, does not provide enough lecithin to successfully protect or cells and allow lecithin to reap its benefits. Of its many benefits, lecithin has been proven to decrease cholesterol, promote cardiovascular health, restore damaged livers and improve the brain’s memory function."

Lecithin is available from organic, non-gmo sources. Just because something is derived does not make it not "natural." Castor oil is derived from the castor oil plant.

2) Concentrace minerals

Here's a product description (note this is a sales description):

"ConcenTrace is a natural mineral concentrate extracted from the waters of Utah's Inland Sea, the Great Salt Lake. It is made up of the most powerful, natural, health giving trace minerals in the world. Soluble, Liquid, Ionic. It is so concentrated that 40 drops (1/2 teaspoon) equals the mineral content of 1/2 cup sea water with 99 percent sodium removed. You may expect a wide spectrum of nutritional benefits."

If you go onto any website such as vitacost.com or amazon.com, it is always a top-rated supplement as experienced by the general public. Here's a typical review I copied from Amazon.com: "After using slightly stronger than usual per glass first thing in the morning, Concentrace put coffee or any tea to shame. Drank a 16oz glass of H2O w/a large squirt, and my brain came on like a light bulb. This is truly a necessity that most go without. Best supplement I take next to eating lots of green veggies!"

Be warned however it has a very strong taste and I think you need to mix it with something!

The reason added minerals are necessary to our diet is that much of the land that produces our food no longer supports what would have been normal mineral content due to pesticides, pollution and other factors. So unless you are lucky enough to grow your own food this is probably necessary and needed. Just my 2 cents.

3) Ditto as #2 with added vitamins. Get organic, non-gmo, etc. For me, juicing a few veggies to me just doesn't go far enough. Believe me I tried that way.

Done posting. Going away now.
