Re: Confused about the filter & still looking for input so I can order--Thanks!
It is my opinion that you (and they) NEED to use the activated charcoal filters that come with the distiller (as directed, buying more when needed).
Reasons:
--IF tap water contains chloramine the ONLY way to remove it is activated charcoal - distilling does not remove chloramine.
--//www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1697664#i - Distilled water is totally 'empty' - it will absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, causing it to have a slightly more acidic pH. When the 'empty water' runs through the activated charcoal, it is no longer totally empty.
You do not need an additional filter.
BTW, people used distillers when they first came out (for decades) without activated charcoal filters (but that was before chloramine). Let's first (always) deal with the BIG picture (getting the poisons out of the water) - we can always fine-tune things as we go along.
The only way Telluride or Anne_33 can "see" your post/request, is if they scan through all the posts on the forum and happen to see that you requested their input. You need to let them know you'd like them to respond. To do this, copy the URL of your post, and either PM them (pasting the URL in the PM and asking if they could reply) - or find another post on the forum that they made, respond to it, and put the URL in your response (again, asking for their input). Then they'll get a message notifying them that someone has responded to one of their posts (or they'll receive the actual PM).
Blessings,
