Re: Does vitamin C response prove SIBO

SIBO produces noisy bowel after eating. Bloating, belching are classic symptoms too. If you have anxiety but your bowel is silent, and you don't have flatulence and belching, I doubt you have SIBO. SIBO isn't the main cause of gastritis but other things like excess of supplements and medicines. There isn't SIBO without loud bowel sounds. When bacterias ferment food in the wrong place, they produce sounds as a results of fermentation. Anyway, If I have to treat SIBO, I will get Dr. Leo Galland's treatment with natural products. Grapefruit-Seed-Extract is one of them. I don't know if there is high risk of killing too much colonic bacterias but is better than take Rx Antibiotics . I took a lot of Grapefruit-Seed-Extract before to get my CDSA and still it shows good levels of bacterias. I have never taken a Probiotic that have E. Coli and my levels were 3+.
