Re: chromium polynicotinate

I thought the reason statins show some benefit was due to their anti-inflammation properties. But their are much better(and safer)ways to reduce inflammation such as anti-inflammatory herbs like turmeric. But it appears that statins do show some benefits with some at risk patients even though they are often dangerous.

The confusion comes with the heart issue being discussed.  Statins have shown anti-inflammatory actions, which MAY help reduce atheroscelrosis.  But statins also drop CoQ10 levels thereby reducing ATP levels in the heart leading to deterioration of the heart muscle.  Statins therefore lead to heart failure, which may also occur from atherosclerosis.  With the statins though you pay big bucks to induce your heart failure.
