Re: vagina - pinworms
Hi Pet
I'm glad you found something that works for you! This is likely a very good way to get them out if they haven't been in the vag and urethra for too long and are still accessible to get the meds to them.
The pins invaded my vag when I used petroleum jelly with lavender oil on my anus. My suggestion would be to apply something on the vag to discourage them from going there. If you just put something on your butt that they don't like, they just may find your vag more appetizing.
Unfortunately, for me, the buggers have been there too long and gone too high. I used the Swat salve and it was great to have the relief with the pins not being able to get through it! BUT because they couldn't get out, they went in farther. I ended up in ER after a week of pain in the right kidney to the lower abdomen. There was no pain in the morning. It started in the afternoon and escalated until after bedtime. Ice packs were the only thing that helped. Ex-ray, ultrasound and blood tests were all normal with a bit of blood in my urine. All these symptoms could relate to pinworms. I stopped using the salve and started Ivermectine. The next day the pain lessened and has continued to abate since then.
I took Vermox for a few days and will start Albenza as soon as I think my kidney can handle it. Seems my weakest link is my kidneys where yours is your liver.
Did another pin paddle and this time I scraped the side of the paddle on the itchy areas. There was some blood on it from the pins doing whatever they do to cause bleeding and there was a little baby pin on the paddle! I wonder if they'll actually see some evidence of worms this time?
Sure would be nice to figure out a way of getting rid of these things once and for all!!!! It's not easy to stay positive and to not be totally disgusted with myself, with worms crawling in the through my privates....day after day, weeks after months....
The only good thing about all this is at least we are having the same experience in finding the 'easily eradicated pinworm'....not so easy to eradicate!
