I agree Spud, it would be very cost effective.

If the demand for this resource became enormous, just like the demand of oil is, would hair salons and barbers start charging a price for the sale of hair?

Would the individual customer who is getting the haircut, charge the hairdresser a certain fee for their hair?

Would hairdresses and barbers charge the oil companies for the hair?
