I would think you have three options. Close the checking account, fill out the W-9 or try to get a foreign checking acount. Or maybe get one of those pay as you go credit cards?

I don't think the bank care's about the fact that they've defaulted on your rebuttal. And to enforce it, you have to take them to court. Plus knowing the way these crooks operate, they've probably changed the laws/game field or something, so the rebuttal won't apply any more?

I wish I could help you more on this, but I'm not very knowledgeable in this type of thing. If this budget thing doesn't get solved, none of it is going to matter anyway I would think. So maybe the best option is pull her money out for now and see what happens, and then look for a foreign account or one of those credit cards? Hey maybe check out that PannamaLaw web site and see what they have to offer. I know they're good at that type of thing. I would think the days of a no ssn/Tin account are over though.

I guess the best option would be for her to become a SPC. :-)But I'm waiting to see what happens before proceeding on that too. I got two sureties all fired up and ready to go, and now I've put it on hold to see what's happening with this budget thing. I think if the government is circling the drain, they're going to take as many down with them as they can in the process and I don't want to get sucked down with them and their illegal activities.
