Re: Joy, laughter, & inspiration?

I agree, Rockstar. I didn't focus on post-fast life in previous fasts. What keeps me going now (day 27) is thinking about the changes happening in me and how my whole life will change after this fast. I will use smaller cleansing fasts in the future, but I want to avoid another huge fast. A week will be a snap of the fingers after this experience.

One of my primary activities now is planning what foods I will eat, where I will shop for them, and collecting whole food recipes. I even sharpened my knives! (lol) It's strange to focus so much on food activity while fasting, but it's also comforting because I'm setting my mind on the great, healthy dishes and smaller portions that will sustain the health I'm restoring. As you say, it's a journey. A very individual and personal journey that tests us and brings us an opportunity for a new start. A few weeks of your life for a whole new start --- it's well worth the sacrifice it takes.
