My daughter - Depression - Return home

Hi all,

I have posted here numerous times about my daughter and her depression. She went to a very good ivy league university. She was a dream child from day one, now she is 22. She failed in her college for last four years and she played around, drank a lot, etc. I had known that for a while, but she was hiding behind the cover of Depression and not facing the facts. The doctors loved this. Last four years she has done nothing but take antidepressants and see shrinks. Although the last shrink was very good and may have helped her.

My daughter finally came back home and she told us about her drinking problem and that she has dropped the poisonous medications because of side effects. This is the greatest news I wanted to hear, I am very thankful.

But, now another host of problems.

She does not do anything at all but watch TV, with a laptop and Cell Phone and her ipod all day. She is still eating junk food even though my wife makes her nice meals. My wife does buy junk foods like cookies and cheetoz etc. which she binges on. She has a huge sleep disorder, she goes to sleep at 2am or after and does not wake up till afternoon next day. I do not now the name but she has to have a screen in front of her, TV, Laptop etc.

Any suggestions by the parents turn into arguments. I suggested her to see a naturopath, ND or even a doctor who would do some tests like liver function, candida etc, but that broke out in a fight and she wound up crying and not speaking to me.

Now she wants to move out and have me pay for it, and have her own apartment even though she has her own little private area in the house. I suggested that she gets a job or starts going to a local college to study anything she likes, she lies to me that she is trying very hard everyday to find a job and that she does not know what she wants to do. I told her that last thing to do is to get a life coach who will help her, answer is no.

WHAT DO I DO? Kick her out? Sorry for a long story.

Thank you.
