I think this is probably the case with all countries at this time, not just the US. Other places do seem to be moving faster on this issue though. Climate change was such a huge issue here in Aus, and as of today, it looks as though we may have some agreement between the Greens (environmental party), and Labor, (socialist party).

People here really want action on this issue, we're are all pretty tired of waiting around for the rest of the world to lead the way. We see the results of climate change and global warming, every day, and Aus is a country that will suffer a great deal if something isn't done.
The one good thing that could come from the Gulf oil spill, is that people wake up and see that dependence on fossil fuels, oil and coal in particular, are killing the country.
The corporations work on supply and demand, the less demand, the less profitable it is for the corporations to make risky decisions about how they will supply. Its not a hard concept, but one that people seem not to be able to see.
What are your thoughts on this?
