Re: Me too! Re: Water, Big Thank you + few more questions
Hi Teresa,
I am working on a post that should help answer your questions about essential oils.
To answer your question about oregano oil. Oil of oregano is not the same as oregano essential oil. To obtain the essential oil, the part/parts of the plant that contain the essential oil (leave, stem, flower, etc.) are steam distilled. If it just says oil of oregano it could be the plant or parts of it were added to an oil base (example: olive oil) and no steam distillation was done to obtain the essential oil. I will explain this in more detail in my later post. I have to run for now. I have a 5 year old granson waiting on me to go on a bike ride!
Let me just say this, "Essential oils will NOT wipe out friendly bacteria".
Essential oils require no digestion. They are quickly taken into the blood and the cells. They assist the body in cleansing, in detoxification of organs, the blood and lymph. They assist the body in regaining a healthy balance.
Importantly, because of their complexity, essential oils do not disturb the body’s natural balance or homeostasis; if one constituent exerts too strong an effect, another constituent may block or counteract it. Synthetic chemicals, in contrast, usually have only one action and often disrupt the body’s homeostasis.
