Hello Water and everyone on the forum, Hello to you Solmare,
I read your post on essential oils a couple of days ago and only now found the time to ask you for some info/help regarding the use of these oils for my skin infection. I’ll do my best to help answer your questions.
Sorry to repeat myself on this forum, but let me very quickly describe what I am dealing with: Long lasting (10 years now) skin infection all over the body (worst face, throat and chest)that shows as many little red dots filled with pus. It's gotten worse over the years, but since I started taking antimicrobial herbs a few months ago, it has gotten better. Unfortunately it seems like I have reached some sort of plateau, so I haven't been improving for several weeks now. My FIRST question for you is, have you done a thorough colon cleanse?
Please read what Dr. Schulze says about the importance of colon cleansing and its effects on the body’s healing process.

(This is the first time I am uploading a picture, hope it worked) It worked and thank you for the photos.
According to my research essential oils could turn out to be the biggest help for this infection. I will also be working with herbs. I agree that essential oils can be a great help with this type of infection.
There seem to be many essential oils with antibacterial, antifungal, antiparasitical, antiviral properties, so I have to make a choice which ones to try first and I came up with these: There are many essential oils that have these properties. The essential oils you have chosen are all good oils, but I think there are other oils you should look to as well. I list them below.
- Oregano Oil (Oregano Vulgare)
- Thyme oil (thymus vulgaris)
- Cinnamonum Zeylanicum
As I mentioned above, I started taking antimicrobial herbs a few months ago, which has improved the infection. 4 weeks ago I started taking Oregano Oil (6x1 drop per day). After 1 month on Oregano Oil, the infection has not improved further. If you have a clogged, toxic and dirty colon poisoning your blood, antimicrobial herbs and essential oils will not be enough. You need to get the waste OUT of your body.
Water, can I ask you these questions:
- How would you approach such an infection with essential oils? To me it seems like I have to go both routes, internal and external treatment. It looks like the internal treatment is more important, since improvement can be seen in areas where I never applied anything. Also the fact that the red spots wander, shows that not a particular area of skin is the problem, but something is going on inside that one day shows here on the skin and the other day there on the skin. I agree that your skin problem needs to be addressed from the inside/internally.
- There's lots of contradicting info about the safety of essential oils taken internally. I am convinced that it is safe, when done properly.
Be sure to read ALL information on the internal use of essential oils: from here
Make sure that you are satisfied any oil you take internally is approved for internal use. Ask this question:
6. Is it safe for internal use? If the answer is that ‘NO essential oil is recommended to be taken internally‘, in my opinion, the company does not sell essential oils that are of a quality that will give you health benefit. They are selling aroma-grade oils or oils that have been cut / adulterated / chemically treated.
An example of the labeling on my Melaleuca alternifolia, Oregano (Oreganum compactum Carvacrol CT), and Sage (Salvia officinalis) bottles:
Essential Oil Supplement -- 100% Pure Grade A Essential Oil Distilled with Low Pressure and Low Temperature -- For dietary or topical use -- When using as a supplement, dilute 1 drop in 4 oz. of liquid -- EC AFNOR Standard.
I have been taking the Oregano Oil for 4 weeks now and would like to continue taking it, to see wheter improvement can be seen in the future. According to my info so far, it should be safe to take Oregano Oil at a dosage of 6 drops per day for several months. What's your opinion on that? [My opinion only] If you are using an oregano oil that is pure and unadulterated it is a very safe oil to take internally. It needs to be diluted with a carrier oil such as coconut/olive or other plant sourced oil. It is also very effective by rubbing it into the bottom of your feet. It will find its way to every cell within a few minutes. The most important action oregano has is its ability to clean the receptor sites on the cells. This is the first step to essential oils healing principles.
- Since I have not seen any improvement with the Oregano Oil after 4 weeks, my plan is now to keep taking it, but to cut back on the dosage (I don’t see any reason to cut back on the amount. 6 drops per day is NOT a strong dosage of this oil.) and at the same time start with one or 2 additional essential oils (I'd like to try Thyme and Chamomile). I would suggest clove, cinnamon, peppermint, ginger, juniper, Cedarwood, spruce, pine or cypress. Roman chamomile and thyme would be other options. I will always make sure to not take more than 8 drops total of essential oils per day. I don’t feel 8 drops total oregano oil is too much at all. Start with 2-3 drops of each oil and see how your body reacts. You can then increase each oil by one drop a day until you are using 3-5 drops of EACH oil two or three times daily.
- What in general do you know about essential oils and their safety when considering dosage and length of treatment time? What dosages and lenghts of treatment are safe and at the same time effective? I have taken oregano INTERNALLY every day for several years. I take anywhere from 6 to 15 drops a day. I don’t look at essential oils in dosage or treatment time. My first reason for including essential oils in my daily life is to assist my body with the daily toxic load that we all face. The second reason is to help my body maintain a healthy frequency. Third to accomplish what is called the TRIPLE WAMMY.

Essential Oil Compounds:
PHENOLS AND PHENYLPROPANOIDS
Phenols and Phenylpropanoids are compounds of carbon-ring molecules incorporating on isoprene unit. They are sometimes called hemiterpenes. There are dozens of varieties of phenylpropanoids. They are found in Clove (90%), Cassia (80%), Basil (75%), Cinnamon (73%), Oregano (60%), Anise (50%), and Peppermint (25%).
While they can create conditions where unfriendly viruses and bacteria cannot live, the most important function performed by phenylpropanoids is that they clean the receptor sites on the cells. Without clean receptor sites cells cannot communicate, and the body malfunctions, resulting in sickness.
MONOTERPENES
Monoterpenes are compounds of two isoprene units, which is ten carbon atoms and sixteen hydrogen atoms per molecule--molecule weight 136 amu. There are an estimated 2,000 varieties of monoterpenes.
Monoterpenes are found in most essential oils: Galbanum (80%), Angelica (73%), Hyssop (70%), Rose of Sharon (54%), Peppermint (45%), Juniper (42%), Frankincense (40%), Spruce (38%), Pine (30%), Cyress (28%), and Myrtle (25%).
While offering a variety of healing properties, the most important ability of the monoterpenes is that they can reprogram miswritten information in the cellular memory (DNA). With improper coding in cellular memory, cells malfunction and diseases result, including lethal ones, such as cancer.
SESQUITERPENES
Sesquiterpenes are compounds of three isoprene units, which is fifteen carbons and twenty-four hydrogens per molecule--molecule weight 204 amu. There are more than 10,000 kinds of sesquiterpenes.
Sesquiterpenes are the principal constituents of Cedarwood (98%), Vetiver (97%), Spikenard (93%), Sandalwood (Aloes)90%, Black Pepper (74%), Patchouli (71%), Myrrh (62%), and Ginger (59%). They are also found in Galbanum, Onycha, and Frankincense (8%).
Sesquiterpene molecules deliver oxygen molecules to cells, like hemoglobin does in the blood. Sesquiterpenes can also erase or deprogram miswritten codes in celluar memory.
Sesquiterpenes are thought to be especially effective in fighting cancer. The root problem with a cancer cell is that it contains misinformation, and sesquiterpenes can delete that garbled information. At the same time the oxygen carried by sesquiterpene molecules creates an environment where cancer cells can't reproduce. Hence, sesquiterpenes deliver cancer cells a double punch--one that disables their coded misbehavior and a second that stops their growth.
The American Medical Association (AMA) has said that if they could find an agent that would pass the blood-brain barrier, they would be able to find cures for ailments such as Lou Gehrig's disease, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease. Such agents already exist and have been available since Biblical times. The agents, of course, are essential oils--particularly those containing the brain oxygenating molecules of sesquiterpenes.
THE TRIPLE WHAMMY
The big triple punch combination of "PMS" (Phenylpropanoids, Monoterpenes, and Sesquiterpenes) found in essential oils is probably one of the major aspects responsible for the therapeutic power familiar to essential oil users.
Many oils containing PMS have been found to be useful in addressing many illnesses, injuries, and disease conditions. One hypothesis is that this combination offers the following actions:
1. Cleanse Receptor Sites:
Phenols and phenylpropanoids can act to clean receptor sites on the surfaces of cells. This allows the proper transfer of hormones, peptides, neurotransmitters, steroids, and other intracellular messengers.
2. Deprogram Bad Information: Sesquiterpenes seem to work at the sub-cellular level by affecting membrane fluidity and facilitating oxygen transfer. Sesquiterpenes may also affect transport of material inside the cell. This allows for access to DNA and RNA which may offer a scientific basis for "deprogramming or erasing the incorrect information from cellular memory" often referred to in holistic healing circles.
3. Reprogram Correct Information: Monoterpenes, working at both sub-cellular and intracellular levels, protect against free radical damage and work within cells to produce properly programmed strands of RNA and DNA. This helps insure proper cell-to-cell communication and maintain healthy bodily functions. Many refer to this as "reprogramming the cells".
These three classes of chemical components may be why essential oils sometimes affect a healing that is nearly instant and also permanent. What they simply do is to restore the body back to its natural state of balance and health at the most basic and fundamental levels within the cells.
There you have it in a nutshell: The way the blood-brain barrier works and the biochemistry of one of the ways essential oils can help achieve a healing.

I am sure the infection can be completely healed. - Especially with Uny's and the forum's help. I AGREE! I am at the moment trying to come up with a treatment plan using essential oils and herbs that is both safe and effective. I say FIRST THINGS FIRST... Clean your colon and open your elimination channels (liver/gallbladder, kidneys?). Use essential oils and herbs to assist your body to restore it back to its natural state of balance and health at the most basic and fundamental levels within the cells.
I am a HUGE believer in the power of essential oils. I have seen them help create a healing. That said, [in my opinion only] there is NO way to be healed of any skin condition without a clean and well-functioning colon.
A couple of things I would like to add. Drink plenty of DISTILLED WATER with one of the citrus essential oils added (1-2 drops lemon, orange, grapefruit) or 1 drop of peppermint. Circulation is key. CAYENNE TINCTURE is wonderful. Massage and/or foot reflexology. Massage the bottoms of your feet with essential oils and coconut oil.
