Water, Big Thank you + few more questions
Hello Water!
Thank you so much for your very helpful reply!
Of course I am/will be doing thorough colon/liver/kidney cleansing. I'm absolutely aware of their importance.
I am also aware of the importance of getting high quality essential oils for therapeutic purposes. After searching for quite a while I have found a French naturopath whose practice is based on the use of essential oils. They are HEBBD-certified and declared to be good for internal use.
Water, I have searched a lot for good information about the therapeutic use of essential oils and have barely found good information. There is so much contradicting information, especially when it comes to dosages and treatment time. Although the majority of info that I have, advises against the internal use, those that say internal use is ok, have clear restrictions regarding dosages and treatment duration. Most reccomend not to exceed 8 drops per day and only do treatment for about 30 days. The info says that if the dosage is higher than about 8 drops and the oil is taken for many months, there's a great likelihood of doing great harm to the body, especially the liver. - I am just reporting you about the info that I have. - I am not saying that I believe it. I absolutely feel like this is bad info and is just not true. But in order to feel safe using essential oils, I need to learn about their therapeutic use from good resources.
It would be of great help, if you could reccomend websites, books, etc. from which I could learn how to correctly use essential oils for therapeutic purposes.
You wrote: "I don’t look at essential oils in dosage or treatment time". I know - like with herbs - there's no one correct dosage and one correct treatment duration. However there are certain guidelines. I am not going to dring 2 liters of pokeroot tincture for example. I guess it would also not be a good idea to drink a bottle of an essential oils all at once. The same is true for treatment duration. - I won't take certain herbs for many years. So what are the guidelines for essential oils? Or where can I find them?
You wrote that you take anywhere between 6 and 15 drops of Oil of Oregano. You als wrote: "Start with 2-3 drops of each oil and see how your body reacts. You can then increase each oil by one drop a day until you are using 3-5 drops of EACH oil two or three times daily". - That would also mean a maximum of 15 drops per essential oil. - So is my assumtion right that the maximum dosage per essential oil is at about 15 drops (I know it's not exactly 15, but I am talking about general guidelines). Are there dosage differences between the various essential oils or do those guidelines of about 15 drops apply to all oils?
How many different oils can one take per day? You wrote:"until you are using 3-5 drops of EACH oil two or three times daily". By each oil, you don't mean all the oils that you listed (clove, cinnamon, peppermint, ginger, juniper, Cedarwood, spruce, pine or cypress), do you? I would think that you are talking of about 3-5 oils at 15 drops maximum per day?
I have been taking my oregano oil with just a little bit of water. - No capsules, or carrier oils. It is a bit strong with just the water, but I can handle it without discomfort. Is that method of ingestion ok, or is anything wrong with it?
I am really looking forward to your answer and learning more about essential oils and want to say thank you again,
healty blessings,
Solmare
