Re: Liver/Gallbladder flush and the fecal soap fallacy!
Riddle me this Fecal soap promoters!
How is it possible for an oil or even an animal fat to make it through the digestive tract and still be not only in tact but in convenient little balls about the same size as the bile ducts in the liver?
The bile ducts are not the size of quarters to baseballs, which are the sizes of some of the soap stones that people have photographed and posted? Actually the bile ducts are nowhere near that size.
Tell me if you will who ever may have the answer to this puzzle ,just how does olive oil become separated from this digested chyme and reform into little green balls of saponified olive oil or this so called fecal soap ?
Really simple. First of all not all the oils and fats are digested. Composition of feces:
https://pantherfile.uwm.edu/rjhutz/www/week12.PDF
Feces
1. Composition
a. water: 75%
b. solid: 25%
1. roughage (30%) of solids
a. insoluble fiber (e.g. cellulose, lignin)
- undigestible
- acts as a bowel irritant
- draws H2O out into lumen
- cleans out lower GI -- correlated with ¯ cancer of colon
b. soluble fiber (e.g. gums, pectins)
- digestible
- ¯ cholesterol concentration
- binds bile salts
- bile still needed to break-up fats
- more cholesterol converted to bile salts
- cholesterol pulled from bloodstream
2. dead bacteria (20%)
3. fat (10-20%)
- steatorrhea = fat in stools
4. inorganic material (10-20%)
5. undigested proteins (10%)
So we still have an oil/fat source for saponification.
Secondly the digestion of fats produces fatty acids. Fatty acids can be saponified:
http://www.chandlerssoaps.com/chemistry-of-soap.html
"Soap, technically, is defined as: the alkali salt of a fatty acid. It is the product that results from the reaction of a fatty acid and a strong base (alkali)."
Riddle solved.
